Tuvo la suficiente
entereza para manifestarse ante sus discípulos como La Universidad. Así las
cosas, Salamanca fue un bello y severo recuerdo. El respeto se lo ganó el
primer día de clases y lo mantuvo hasta la Eternidad. ¿Qué fue lo que les dijo
a sus discípulos? La Universidad apenas habló y escribió en el aire sus
primeras pautas: sugirió aprender la letra A, y al otro día la letra Zeta.
Podían ser varios días, semanas, un par de meses, pero una vez concluido ese
trayecto, todo lo que apareciese en el medio sería parte de un gran
instrumento, la herramienta adecuada para entender el Todo.

He had the fortitude to speak to his disciples as The
University. Thus, Salamanca was a beautiful and stern memory. He earned respect
on the first day of class, and maintained until Eternity. What did he say to
his disciples? The University, as soon as he spoke and wrote in the air the
first guidelines: suggested to learn the letter A, and the next day the letter
Zeta. It could be several days, weeks, a couple of months, but once that
journey was over, everything that appeared in between would be part of a great
instrument, the right tool, to understand the Whole

Los de la izquierda le
preguntaban si era de la derecha. Los de la derecha le preguntaban si era de la
izquierda. Los del centro también preguntaban: si era de centro izquierda o de centro
derecha. Los de centro izquierda y centro derecha, al sentirse tan observados
(por estar casi siempre en el centro), preguntaban por los márgenes, por la
extrema izquierda y la extrema derecha. Y esos extremos ya no preguntaban nada
porque tenían la certeza de que más allá de ellos mismos, había uno o varios
enemigos, y nada más.

Those on the
left asked him if he was from the right. Those on the right asked him if he was
from the left. Those in the centre also asked him if he was from the centre
left or from the centre right. The centre-right and centre-left, feeling so
watched (because they were almost always in the centre), asked about the
margins, about the extreme left and the extreme right. And these extremes no
longer asked anything because they were certain that beyond themselves, there
was one or more enemies, and nothing more.
